Why your personal brilliance matters (and not just to me)
Between systems and socialization, it’s a wonder our lights don’t go out. Also, the world is in crisis—and we’ve pretty much realized the solution isn’t outside of us. We are the answers to our problems. And like the lighthouses that line the shore, when one of us shines brightly, we provide a beacon for others who want to do the same.
Although our structures tell us otherwise, life actually makes more sense when we’re marching to the beat of our own drum. As leaders, that rhythm takes us—and our cohort—to the places we are free to be who we are and to choose what is most meaningful to us. This ultimately benefits all those in our sphere.

Some interesting places I’ve fanned the sparks of brilliance
Small, privately held enterprise serving Fortune 500, mid-size, and small businesses: I partnered with client teams to develop and deliver learning programs that amplified human skills. We focused on curiosity, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and divergent thinking. These leadership capabilities promoted engagement and retention. (Not to mention, that’s what makes all the things fly.)
Entrepreneurs in real estate, finance, legal: Using a combo of coaching, facilitation, and instructional design, I worked closely with small business owners and their teams to meet their business goals—and build sustainable success. (I truly believe that the success of one of us is the success of all of us.)
A tech company in the banking sector. I managed a team of programmers who used data to help people in small banks and credit unions increase profitability. (I retained 100% of my team during my two-year leadership tenure. Yay us!)
A Fortune 1000 tech company in the healthcare sector: I helped hospital laboratory technicians move from paper to computer ordering systems. (This was the launch pad for my professional L&D career.)
United States Air Force (Non-Appropriated Funds): I was responsible for executive communications and business unit operating instructions. (This is where I fell in love with PowerPoint.)
Educational stuff (in case you wondered)
I worked hard and earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management from University of Maryland Global Campus and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. I’m also an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Professional Certified Coach (PCC). Hard test! Passed the first time!
