Discover the Courage to Change

I’m writing this for the third time. The first time I lost the text, I accidentally hit the “esc” key on my keyboard. I have absolutely NO idea what happened the second time. So this time, I’m going to change everything and assume that my soul knows best and there’s something ELSE that needs to be said rather than what was evidently blathering.

You’ve had the courage all along. You just had to learn it for yourself.

In short, the healing journey that takes us inward is one that can be frightening. Who among us likes to face our shadows, painful memories, and uncomfortable sensations? The willingness to build the ability to do so takes a great deal of courage.

As you reflect on your journey, notice the leading part you played in every step forward. Despite setbacks and challenges, you stayed the course and got to this point. The person who got you here is you. You connected the dots, you asked for help, you didn’t quit. I’m a big fan of yours, by the way.

Of course there were people who were instrumental in your life, but no one took the steps for you. Remember that the next time you’re looking for your courage. It’s right there, in your quiet center, beating your heart and breathing your breath.

Take a moment to notice all the times you were brave, courageous, and strong. If it helps, write them down. Look for evidence of your own awesome power and remember that all you need is already yours.
